Question 1

What is Power Up Kids?

Accepted Answer

Power Up Kids is a new fitness platform designed specifically for kids and teens ages 10–18. It combines structured, age-appropriate video workouts with game-style rewards like points, streaks, and badges, so daily exercise feels as rewarding as leveling up in a game. Parents set up the account and choose the program; kids bring the effort.

Question 2

What isn't Power Up Kids?

Accepted Answer

Power Up Kids is not: • A medical service or therapy provider • A personal trainer or licensed fitness coach • A nutrition or weight-loss program • A social media platform. Kids can't interact with other kids. • An adult fitness app adapted for kids. It's built from scratch for ages 10–18. • A replacement for school PE or sports

Question 3

Is this a weight-loss app?

Accepted Answer

No. Our three programs, Build Strength, Stay Balanced, and Become Athletic, are named for fitness goals, not body types. Kids never see language about weight, body size, or calories, and parents choose the program privately.

Question 4

Who is Power Up Kids for?

Accepted Answer

Kids and teens ages 10 to 18, and their parents. Workouts are built separately for ages 10–12, 13–15, and 16–18. We don't recommend Power Up Kids for children under 10.

Question 5

What equipment is required?

Accepted Answer

None. Every Power Up Kids workout uses bodyweight only, so kids can train at home with no equipment and no gym.

Question 6

How long are the workouts?

Accepted Answer

About 20 to 30 minutes, short enough to fit before school, after school, or in the evening.

Question 7

Will I need to download anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Power Up Kids runs in your web browser on any phone, tablet, or computer. No app store download needed.

Question 8

Will Power Up Kids show ads?

Accepted Answer

No. Power Up Kids is subscription-funded. We don't show advertising to kids or parents, and we don't accept payment to promote products in our content.

Question 9

Do you guarantee results?

Accepted Answer

No. Every child is different, and progress depends on consistency, sleep, nutrition, and more. What we do promise is structured, age-appropriate workouts designed to make showing up feel rewarding, which is where real progress starts.

Question 10

Will I be charged when I join the waitlist?

Accepted Answer

No. Joining the waitlist is free and we don't collect any payment details. You decide whether to subscribe when we launch.

Question 11

What is Founding Family pricing?

Accepted Answer

The first 250 families on the waitlist get a reduced founding rate. We'll share the rate and timeline with those waitlisted families before launch.

Question 12

When does Power Up Kids launch?

Accepted Answer

Soon. Waitlist families will be the first to know the date.

Question 13

Will exercise stunt my child's growth?

Accepted Answer

No. This is one of the most persistent myths in kids' fitness, and the evidence doesn't support it. The American Academy of Pediatrics states that appropriately designed exercise does not stunt growth. Injury risk comes from poor technique or heavy loads without supervision, which is why every Power Up Kids workout is age-appropriate, bodyweight-only, and focused on good form. Done properly, exercise supports healthy bone development. Learn more on our Safety page.

Question 14

Is strength training safe for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when it's designed properly. The American Academy of Pediatrics' 2020 clinical report found that children and teens can safely build strength when training is age-appropriate and focused on technique rather than heavy loads. All Power Up Kids workouts use bodyweight only, with clear form guidance throughout. Learn more on our Safety page.

Question 15

How much exercise should kids get?

Accepted Answer

The World Health Organization recommends an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity a day for ages 5–17, including muscle- and bone-strengthening activity at least three days a week. Power Up Kids workouts (20–30 minutes) are designed to contribute to that daily total, not replace sports, play, or PE.

Question 16

My child has a health condition. Can they use Power Up Kids?

Accepted Answer

Exercise is beneficial for most children with chronic conditions, but every child is different. Please check with your child's pediatrician before starting if they have asthma, diabetes, a heart condition, or any condition affecting physical activity. We're not a medical service and can't give condition-specific guidance.

Question 17

Can exercise help my child's mental health?

Accepted Answer

Research links regular physical activity in kids with fewer anxiety and depression symptoms, better self-esteem, better sleep, and better focus. That's a big part of why we focus on making movement a daily habit.

Question 18

Do parents need to be involved?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Parents create the family account, choose each child's program, and can follow their progress. We strongly recommend supervising workouts, especially for kids ages 10–12, kids who are new to exercise, and kids with a health condition. Supervision is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Question 19

What should I do if my child feels pain during a workout?

Accepted Answer

Stop the workout right away. Kids should never push through pain. Pain during exercise should always be checked by a healthcare professional, and if it happens regularly, get professional guidance before continuing.

Question 20

Does Power Up Kids give medical advice?

Accepted Answer

No. Nothing on Power Up Kids is medical guidance, diagnosis, or treatment. If your child has a health condition, feels pain during exercise, or you're unsure whether exercise is right for them, please talk to a licensed healthcare provider first.

Question 21

Is Power Up Kids responsible if my child gets injured?

Accepted Answer

Power Up Kids provides fitness content for informational and motivational purposes. All physical activity carries some risk of injury. Parents and guardians are responsible for making sure their child exercises safely, is healthy enough to exercise, and is supervised when needed, as set out in our Terms of Service.

Question 22

Does Power Up Kids give nutrition advice?

Accepted Answer

No. We're a fitness platform, not a nutrition service. For dietary guidance, please talk to a registered dietitian or your child's pediatrician.

Question 23

How important is sleep?

Accepted Answer

Very. The body repairs muscle and releases growth hormone during sleep. Guidelines from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, recommend 9–12 hours a night for ages 6–12 and 8–10 hours for ages 13–18. Poor sleep undermines the benefits of exercise, so we encourage families to protect sleep as seriously as workouts.

Question 24

What other habits help my child?

Accepted Answer

Alongside regular workouts: • Consistent sleep (9–12 hours for ages 6–12, 8–10 hours for teens) • Balanced meals with protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, fruits, and vegetables • Water before, during, and after workouts • Time outdoors • Active play, sports, and movement with friends and family • Rest days, because the body gets stronger during recovery

Question 25

Isn't this just more screen time?

Accepted Answer

We understand the concern. With Power Up Kids, the screen is a tool for following along with an active workout, not for passive watching. Guided screen time that gets kids moving is very different from social media or entertainment. We still encourage parents to balance all screen time for their family.

Question 26

How is my family's information protected?

Accepted Answer

Right now, the waitlist collects only a parent's name, email, and number of kids. When Power Up Kids launches, kids won't create their own accounts; everything is managed through the parent account. We don't sell personal data, we don't show ads, and kids can't interact with other kids on the platform. See our Privacy Policy for details.
